CO2 PRE/POST CARE
Pre-Care for CO2 Alma Hybrid
2–4 Weeks Before Treatment:

4 weeks prior avoid sun exposure and tanning (including tanning beds and self-tanners).

Stop retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, and exfoliants at least 1 week prior.

Discontinue photosensitizing medications (consult your doctor).

Two weeks prior avoid antibiotics

If you are prone to cold sores, ask your provider about antiviral medication (e.g., Acyclovir) to start 1–2 days prior.

Avoid recent injectables, microneedling, or chemical peels in the treatment area unless cleared by your provider.
Day Before / Day Of Treatment:

Wash your face with a gentle cleanser, no makeup, lotions, or SPF on the day of the treatment.

Wear comfortable clothes and a hat for sun protection after your appointment.

Arrange for downtime (usually 3–10 days).
Post-Care for CO2 Alma Hybrid
Days 1–3 (Intensive Recovery Phase)

Redness, swelling, and oozing are normal.

Keep skin moisturized and clean. Use SOS kit given by office (follow instructions given by provider)

Use cold compresses to reduce discomfort and swelling.
-
Sleep with your head elevated to minimize swelling.
Days 4–7 (Peeling/Healing Phase)

Skin will peel, flake, and feel tight – do not pick or scrub.

Continue use of SOS kit and frequent moisturizing.
-
Avoid makeup until skin is fully re-epithelialized (usually around day 7–10).
Long-Term Care (Weeks 2–6 and Beyond)

Strict sun avoidance: Use a broad-spectrum SPF 50+ and wear a wide-brimmed hat.

Resume active skincare ingredients (retinol, acids) only once your provider approves.

Expect progressive improvement over weeks as collagen remodeling occurs.
Expected Downtime

Redness: Average 7–10 days

Peeling/Flaking: 4–7 days

Makeup Resumption: Usually after 7 days

Full healing: 4–6 weeks for internal healing and collagen production
Watch for Signs of Complications
Contact your provider if you notice:

Signs of infection (pus, increasing redness, warmth)

Blistering
-
Persistent pain
-
Hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation
